Amani - Deepwood Salem, Oregon Senior Photography

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE photographing high school seniors? Seriously, some of my very favorite sessions are of kids at such a pivotal time of their life! I remember senior year fondly: football games, pep rallies, high school dances, powderpuff football, and more. But one of the things I look back on fondly is my time getting my senior photos done. I remember how fun it was to play model for a little bit and to get dressed up. 

I work hard to set my clients mind at ease because many of my seniors haven’t spent a lot of time in front of the camera. Take Amani, for example. She is a beautiful and athletic senior who is also laid back. She loves getting a little dressed up, but loves soccer more. Hanging out with her and her parents was a real treat. We walked around Historic Deepwood Estate in Salem, and together we created some wonderful photos for her and her parents to remember this year. She brought the perfect outfits to complement the scenery as well.

One of the highlights of the session was taking photos of Amani in the exact same spots as her parent’s wedding photos many years ago. Her parents tied the knot at Deepwood Estate, so it was really a full-circle moment.

Historic Deepwood Estate in Salem, Oregon is a beautiful and diverse venue for weddings, events, and photography. Every time I visit, I find new nooks and crannies to use for photo backdrops. I enjoy walking the grounds with my clients and adventuring through such beautifully landscaped gardens. The location is ideal for senior photography and family photography as it offers numerous backgrounds and compliments many styles.
